The Association of Washington Cities to host a Regional Short Course on Local Planning.

In coordination with the Department of Commerce and the Planning Association of Washington, the Association of Washington Cities is hosting a Regional Short Course on Local Planning. One of only twenty being offered this year, this basic Short Course will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 9:00 AM - Noon at the Renton Community Center, at 1715SE Maple Valley Highway, in Renton, WA. The Short Course is a great training opportunity for Mayors, Council Members, Planning Commission Members, Board Members, City Clerks and Staff, Administrators, Attorneys, Planning Consultants and Citizens to learn more about planning and community development and how to be involved. Three segments will be presented by volunteer professionals with expertise on the legal basis of planning in Washington, comprehensive planning and implementation, and the role of the Planning Commission.
