Sustainable Washington 2009: Planning for Climate Change is a continuation and extension of the Livable Washington initiative of the Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association. This site is intended as a resource for Washington planners as we work toward creating sustainable communities while attempting to develop adaptation and mitigation strategies to address the impacts of climate change.

This web-based resource consists of several parts:

• An extensive online resource document, including background on the issues, actions planners can take, and the role of GMA and state initiatives;
• An 8-page Executive Summary, which also serves as a mailer and public information piece;
